Redash-Open Source SaaS Application Deployment

Redash is designed to enable anyone, regardless of the level of technical sophistication, to harness the power of data big and small. SQL users leverage Redash to explore, query, visualize, and share data from any data sources.

One of the key features of Redash is its query editor which provides the following;

  • Write queries in their natural syntax and explore schemas
  • Live auto-complete and keyboard shortcuts
  • Create snippets for elements you frequently use
  • Results are cached for minimal running times
  • Schedule auto-update times for results you rely on
  • Use query results as data sources to join different databases

Redash can be easily deployed on all of the major cloud platforms. I deployed my Redash instance via DigitalOcean.

For basic deployments Redash recommends a minimum of 2GB of RAM and reasonable amount of CPU allocation.

To create an instance, you have the following options:

  1. AWS EC2 AMI
  2. DigitalOcean
  3. Google Compute Engine Image
  4. Other
  5. Docker
